A&A Paving Contractors Awarded 2017 National Contractor of the Year

ROSELLE, Ill. – A&A Paving Contractors, Inc. (A&A Paving) received the National Contractor of the Year Award at the 2017 National Pavement Expo in Nashville, Tenn. The A&A Paving team was singled out from a field of nearly 20,000 eligible contractors nationwide.

This year’s Expo theme, Relentless Leadership, perfectly describes the journey A&A Paving has taken in pursuit of creating a radically different company. “We’ve undergone a complete transformation,” said Todd Eichholz, Co-owner of A&A Paving. “Our team says we’re like a ‘brand new, 60-year old paving company’.” Their leadership, operations and technology changes have resulted in an average annual growth of 132% over the past three years.

Eichholz, who joined A&A Paving in 2014, brings his experience and knowledge from the customer’s perspective as a commercial property manager, along with his youthful enthusiasm and desire to lead by example. Combined with Co-owner Bob Olson’s 60 years of experience in the rough and tumble world of paving and concrete construction, they’ve created a unique approach to communicating with their customers. “Our process of active listening and addressing our customers’ specific problems is very different in this industry,” said Olson. “Our customer-first mentality creates strong relationships with open lines of communication, keeping our customers informed and happy across the delivery of the entire project.”

The A&A Paving team is also committed to the greater community and charitable organizations through their Paving It Forward initiative. One such beneficiary is Willow Creek’s annual Global Leadership Summit, which touches more than 300,000 people in 120+ countries each year. This year A&A Paving will increase their commitment by sponsoring a remote site for the Summit in Africa, in addition to sponsoring more than 30 people to attend the Summit in the Chicago area.
